History: Here are translations. He's heavily involved in the story, as one of the onscreen accessory protagonists to the player character.
Personality:
⬥ What does your character consider to be their top 3 strengths? If Deuce were to name traits of his that he's proud of, they would be his knack with electronics, his physical strength, and his hard-working nature. Incidentally he takes great pride in his ability to conjure oversize cauldrons.
⬥ What do others consider to be your character's worst weakness? His gullible nature, no contest.
⬥ How does your character interact with others? Deuce is fairly honest and direct with other people. He strives to be polite, as he's endeavoring to better himself and be a model student. However when his temper is set off, he becomes confrontational and aggressive, like a switch has been flipped.
⬥ What motivates or drives your character? Real talk, he just wants to make his mama proud.
⬥ How does your character spend their free time? Pines for the ability to ride his magical wheel... But also Deuce is the definition of hard work over raw talent, and he spends his time doing things to try and improve himself like brushing up on his studies or training. He's also a savvy bargain shopper, although he hates timed sales.
⬥ What is your character's greatest desire? His dream is to become a police officer, particularly some kind of magical special ops officer in his home country. To do that, he's first endeavoring to become an honors student, as the program he would have to get into is considered elite. And again, making mom proud is way up there.

Powers: In Twisted Wonderland, magic functions primarily on the imagination and magical faculties of the individual. The better a mage is at conceptualizing what he wants to conjure, the more pliable their magic will be. Mages each have their own individual capacities for spellcasting, and therefore limitations are individual, but they are capable of growth and improvement within that framework. There are also drawbacks to the use of considerable magical power, in particular, a byproduct known as blot.
Blot is described as being a waste product similar to exhaust from burning fuel. The more that a mage exerts their magical faculties, the more blot they build up. To mitigate this ill effect and help direct spells, practitioners of magic utilize magical pens, which take on some of the blot for them. The progression of this blot is indicated by the stone atop the pen. It will show blemishes as blot is accrued, which will clear away with time and rest. If an individual over-exerts themselves however, they can enter a berserk state called overblot, changing form and losing self-control.
This is, according to Crowley, virtually impossible for one Deuce Spade. He (along with his classmate Ace) is described as having so little mana at his disposal that it would be nigh impossible to generate a significant amount of blot. Deuce is more of a budding talent than his seniors at Night Raven College, selected for his potential rather than his present prowess. He's capable of casting spells, but even novice magic like changing the color of objects remains a challenge for him to master.
Like other students, Deuce has access to several forms of elemental magic. He can conjure balls of fire, jets of water, and gusts of wind. Like other students, he also has access to void magic, and as is the same for the majority of other students, this means he can cast dark-element spells as well. In all cases, these spells are shown as small, concentrated bursts of each element where standard attacks are concerned. They aren't highly potent or damaging unless used at elemental advantage, for instance water cast against someone wielding fire.
Students are also capable of casting duo magic with others, seemingly contingent upon their bonds or capacity or teamwork. In Deuce's case, he is thus far capable of using duo magic with Ace. This comes as working in concert to attack an opponent, and as gameplay goes, having Ace's support allows Deuce to attack three times consecutively with water spells, rather than a maximum of twice, when the duo magic is executed. As of the end of chapter 5 of the main story, Deuce has also acquired his own Unique Magic, a special ability unique unto an individual. As he describes it, he can absorb offensive magic sent his way and send it back at his attacker.
Deuce also has a particular inclination toward conjuring large, heavy crockery to pummel foes with. Specifically, he summons the largest, heaviest thing he can think of: a sizable black cauldron. Based on the proportionately huge cauldron in the Alchemy classroom, it stands to reason that one really doesn't want Deuce dropping one of these hefty objects on them. He tends to resort to this magic before any other spells when threatened...or if Ace annoys him just that much.
Beyond this, Deuce is physically swifter and stronger than would be expected for his size and age. While some of this may be attributed to his background as an ex-delinquent who frequently got into fights, it's notable that his strength exceeds what is reasonable for his stature. When older Savanaclaw students picked a fight with Deuce, they were notably alarmed by the strength of his grip and being unable to wrench free of it until he let go. He's also capable of keeping up with Jack Howl in a brawl, despite the difference in their size and musculature.
Having taken a place on the track team, Deuce is also a swift runner. He's able to compete with Jack in this arena too, and is noted for training until he exhausts himself. Aside from raw athleticism, Deuce is a capable hand-to-hand combatant and is more inclined toward resorting to fisticuffs than relying on his magic in an altercation, instinctively playing to his own strengths where many others far outstrip him in the magic department as a first-year student.
He also just so happens to be a veteran bargain-shopper and quite handy with machinery, owing to being the young man of the house living with his single mom.

AU Name: Deuce Spade Yes I'm inflicting that on him. AU Age: 17
AU History: This is essentially the same as OU, but no magic.
Deuce grew up with a single mother as an only child. He never knew his father, and his mother doesn't talk about him very much, so his family are his mother and grandmother. Due in part of this absence in his life, Deuce started acting out as a kid, and became a rather well-known delinquent in his community by middle school. This reached a point at which his mother and everyone around him was willing to believe the worst of him without question.
This very nearly landed Deuce in hot water with the local authorities, save that a local beat cop did his due diligence and found that Deuce was not guilty of a crime that would have landed him in juvenile corrections. Between this incident and overhearing his mother blaming herself for his delinquency, Deuce resolved to turn his life around. Not only would he become a model student and make his mother proud, he'd become a police officer like the man who had saved him.
With his path set, Deuce began the long, difficult road of catching up on all that he'd missed academically during his years if delinquency. Along the way, he took up a part-time job at a local teahouse called the White Rabbit and started getting tutoring from one of his seniors in school.
AU Personality:
⬥ What does your character consider to be their top 3 strengths? These would be the same things, minus the cauldron-conjuring alas.
⬥ What do others consider to be your character's worst weakness? He's still hideously gullible.
⬥ How does your character interact with others? Also the same.
⬥ What motivates or drives your character? Still wants to make mama proud.
⬥ How does your character spend their free time? No magic in this setting so he's not practicing that, but studying and bargain shopping are still on the table. Since he's not in boarding school, he's helping mom out like he would when he's on vacation.
⬥ What is your character's greatest desire? He still wants to be a cop and make his mom proud of him, just not a cool magical cop alas.
